The first time you hold that precious new life in your hands and think to yourself, "can I do this?" Remember, you are a good mom.
The night your newborn is awake and screaming with colic. You cry on your husbands shoulder, "I can't do this." Remember, you are a good mom.
The first time she wraps her tiny hand around your finger. Your heart races and you realize that you'd do anything for this little creature. Remember, you are a good mom.
The first time she recognizes your voice and turns her head toward you and smiles. Remember, you are a good mom.
The moment she raises her arms to be picked up by your loving hands. To be protected by your embrace and rest her head against your chest. Remember, you are a good mom.
When there are dishes in the sink, and the floor has to be mopped, and a pile of laundry the size of Mt Everst sits in the corner. When you feel like your world maybe crumbling because your baby is teethng and running a fever for two days and you don't know what to do. When you haven't eaten (or forgot to eat), haven't had time for a shower ot to even brush your teeth. When the reality of motherhood comes at you at 80mph and hits you right in the chest. Remember, YOU ARE A GOOD MOM.
The moment your daughter sleeps on your chest all night because she doesn't feel good & you sit up holding her close, feeling her take in each breath, watching her dream. When you don't care about the laundry or dishes all of a sudden and the fact that you smell to high-heaven doesn't bother you. That. That is the moment you realize you are a good mom.
Don't ever forget it.
